Welcome to the Chatelech Secondary School website. We hope that you take the opportunity to explore our website and see some of the exciting things that we do at CSS.
CSS, which is within the territory of the Sechelt Nation, is officially designated a B.C. Community School. During the academic year we have an a hot lunch program and a breakfast program. The Community School and PAC have supported our Homework Club in the past. We have several retired engineers from the community who are interested in supporting us next year. We anticipate that this will be seen in support of our Homework Club, but also supporting a Math Club. I look forward to the opportunities that this will provide our students.
We will be welcoming students back to get their lockers, pay their students fees, and check in with our counselors starting August 31st. Both Mr. Smith and Ms. Charters will be available to meet with students from August 31 to September 4th. Please make appointments with our counsellors, as they will be very busy the first week back. The schedule will be as follows:
Monday, August 31 Grade 12
Tuesday, September 1 Grade 11
Wednesday, September 2 Grade 10
Thursday, September 3 Grade 9
Friday, September 4 Grade 8
School starts up on Tuesday, September 8th at 11:15 am.
We want parents and guardians to stay connected with the school so we welcome your feedback. E-mail is one of he most efficient ways to connect with our teachers-- their e-mail addresses can be found above by clicking the Teachers site. I will be adjusting this to reflect our staffing changes for next year. Some teacher blogs/websites can also be found there. During the school year I write regular posts on the Principal's Blog. I also welcome our new Vice-Principal to Chatelech, Mark Sauer. He will be an asset to our school community and I look forward to working with him. Please stop by to say hello to him if you get a chance.
I look forward to seeing everyone in late August or Early September.
All the All the best.
